ABB (China) Limited
ABB, a leader in power and automation technologies, has a long relationship with China, dating back 105 years ago when it first built a steam boiler in 1907. In 1992, the global top 500 company based in Switzerland invested in its first joint venture companies in Xiamen. In 1995, it set up a holding company in China - ABB (China) Limited in Beijing. Today, ABB has established a full range of business activities throughout the country, including R&D, supply chain management, engineering, manufacturing, sales and services, with 18,300 employees, 35 local companies, and an extensive sales and service network across 80 cities. ABB’s total China revenue was US$5.1 billion in 2011, and 85 percent of its revenue is derived from locally made products. ABB is a preferred supplier for customers in China. Among the top 100 electrical equipment companies in China in 2010, 10 were local companies. ABB also has strong investments in attracting, developing and retaining talent, and is a widely recognized as a strong employer. |
