Riverdance, a traditional Irish tap dancing show, will tour 13 cities in China starting in December, the troupe revealed this week.
Lead dancers Brendan Dorris and Manson Siobhan came to Beijing to campaign for the months-long Chinese portion of the tour. They disclosed that the troupe will be back in the city in February, where they will stage the dance at the Beijing Exhibition Center.
According to the manager of the troupe, the troupe has prepared a special show for next year, marking the 15th anniversary of Riverdance. Though many of the performers will be in China for the first time, they will add some Chinese elements to the Irish performance.
So far, the dance has attracted 25 million viewers in 32 countries and regions around the world. About 200 million people have watched Riverdance on DVD.
