The exhibition "Fang Lijun: Thread of Time" will show at the Guangdong Museum of Art from December 11 to January 31. Fang Lijun, 46, one of the leading and most influential contemporary artists in China, is known as one of the major forerunners of the early 1990s Cynical Realism movement.

The exhibit is divided into two parts. Visitors will have a chance to see the most important pieces created by Fang after 2000 as well as his recent outstanding works. The other part presents some important sketches and notebooks that will help track Fang's creative process through different periods over the past 30 years.

An art exhibition that focuses on the artist's creative process is rarely seen. Unlike simply displaying the complete, final product, the archives on display at the show are quite helpful for people to better understand the artist.
