This week, China's film market is set to heat up. The new 3D version of "Clash of the Titans" will go head to head with Xu Jinglei's urban romance "Go Lala Go".
"Go Lala Go" will hit Chinese cinemas on April 15. Based on the best-selling novel "Du Lala's Promotion", it centres on a woman named Du Lala who struggles to get promoted.
The film stars Director Xu Jinglei herself as Du Lala, as well as Karen Mok, Stanley Huang, Pace Wu and Li Ai.
In the film, Lala is something of a fashionista. To achieve this, Oscar-nominated American costume designer Patricia Field was brought onboard as the film's costume advisor. Field in turn created a trendy wardrobe for Lala, which might inspire viewers to go outside and do a little shopping of their own.

SYNOPSIS

The romantic Chinese film "Go Lala Go!" centres on Lala's joys and sorrows as she rises from office rookie to HR manager.
The 2007 best-selling novel "Du Lala's Promotion" has been described as a must-read guide for all white-collar workers, and has been developed into TV and theatrical dramas. Now it has reached the silver screen.
"Go Lala Go!" is Xu Jinglei's fourth feature film as director. Xu, who is also a popular actress, stars in the film as Lala.
"Clash of the Titans"
"Clash of the Titans", a remake of the 1981 movie of the same name, is set for release on April 16 in China.
The film is loosely based on the Greek myth of Perseus. Directed by Louis Leterrier, the man behind 2008's "Incredible Hulk", "Clash of the Titans" has been converted into 3D given the recent success of blockbuster movies employing the format.
It tells the story of the hero Perseus as he battles a host of fearsome creatures including giant scorpions, a huge sea monster called the Kraken and the terrifying Medusa with writhing snakes instead of hair.
Perseus is played by Australian actor Sam Worthington, who made his name as the lead in "Avatar". The film also features Irish actor Liam Neeson as Zeus, King of the Gods and father of Perseus, and English actor Ralph Fiennes as Hades, the evil Lord of the Underworld.
Audiences are getting ready to see if modern special effects can make this new movie even better than its predecessor.
