Australian Fashion Week will be held from May 3 to 7. The 15th annual event is looking to the future of fashion and following the lead of Paris, New York and Milan by giving fashion bloggers front row access.
Fashion Week organizers, IMG Fashion Australia, said on Wednesday Australia's most celebrated fashion editors will share seats in the front row with some of the world's most powerful fashion bloggers.
"The fashion industry by definition is innovative and for us we 've certainly taken the tagline 15 years of innovation because it' s important to look at how the industry has established itself with this exhibition, but as important is looking to the future," IMG's general manager Daniel Hill told Australia Associated Press at Sydney's Powerhouse Museum on Wednesday.
"The front row for fashion week this year will have, literally it will have the best of the best in terms of bloggers including Tim Blanks, Tommy Tom, Scott Schuman, Garance Dore, Suzy Bubble, and for the young fashion followers they are the key people and they sit in the front row of Paris, Milan and New York and they will be with you for (Australian) Fashion Week," Hill said.
Rosemount Australian Fashion Week (RAFW) Spring Summer 2010/11 will take place from May 3 to May 7, 2010 against the spectacular backdrop of Sydney's Circular Quay.
A selection of Australia and the Asia-Pacific's best designers will present their collections to some of the world's most significant members of the fashion industry. RAFW is an exclusive industry-only event, made accessible to registered buyers, agents, media, stylists and other fashion industry representatives.
The five day official schedule features designers in on-site and off-site Collection Shows, Emerge, The MCA and the Westin Sydney Suites. This season's Spring Summer Collections will be held over five days and showcase more than 100 designers in 45 Collection Shows, over 50 accessory designers in Emerge and over 40 designer collections available for viewing at The MCA Showrooms and The Westin Sydney Suites.
