A large exhibition featuring works from China and South Korea is running in Beijing's 798 Art District until April 25.

It will show 40 paintings and sculptures from 20 Chinese artists, including painters Lei Liang, Chen Mengxin, Ai Song and Liu Yan. These will appear alongside 900 works by 150 South Koreans, including painters Koo Cha-soong and Song Yong, and sculptor Shin Dal Ho.

The exhibition seeks to present typical oriental art and promote communication between the two countries. Beijing CNTC International Auction Company will auction most of the works during the exhibition.

Visitors will discover similarities between the two countries' art histories. China's modern art has experienced the fastest growth in the past 30 years, while South Korea has been developing the genre since 1957. Although very young, the two countries' art circles are globally recognized.
