China's Emmy awards draw the curtain

The curtain has come down on the 2010 Spring TV Series Gala, known as China's Emmy awards, with Hai Qing and Jiang Wu picking up the best actress and actor honors.

Hai Qing's portrayal of the daughter-in-law in several family melodramas has won her many fans in recent years, while Jiang is a senior actor respected for his proven acting skills.

The Line, a war story set in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression (1937-45), was voted best TV series.

A new TV adaptation of the classic Chinese novel, Romance of the Three Kingdoms, was billed the most recommended show of the next quarter.

Initiated by the Web portal Sohu, the gala selects the most popular TV shows and actors based on audience ratings and the number of clicks they garner on Sohu's video-sharing channel.

Sohu Video, in cooperation with more than 300 film and TV producing institutions offers more than 50,000 legitimate episodes of TV series and film for netizens to share freely.
