Du Lala, the protagonist of a best-selling series of books, has been the most popular subject for adaptations this year. After the stage drama and film versions, a TV series on the office lady will start soon, starring actress Wang Luodan.

Titled A Story of Lala's Promotion, the show will feature some key episodes that have been aired on Web portal Sohu's high-definition video channel since June 22, one month before the simultaneous broadcasting of the complete version on the website and two satellite TV stations.

To be a convincing Lala, who rises from newbie to be the human resources director, Wang "trained" at two Fortune 500 companies, where she learned how to use EXCEL, printers and even ordered food for colleagues.

Wang compares the entertainment industry to a big company, where directors and producers are the bosses. As a newcomer she has to win their favor.
