A panda film festival is to be held on August 1 in Ya'an City in southwest China's Sichuan Province, known as the panda's hometown city.

This is the 3rd Panda Film Festival, jointly hosted by the China Film Archive and Ya'an Municipal Government, and will show movies from China, France, New Zealand and other countries.

With the theme "Low-carbon life and animal protection", the one-week festival will show films on animals made in China, France, New Zealand and elsewhere, with the goal of strengthening public's awareness of environmental and animal protection issues.
