The Russian edition of a book written by former Chinese vice premier Li Lanqing was unveiled Thursday at the 23rd Moscow International Book Fair.
The book "Breaking through -- the Birth of China's Opening-Up Policy" was first published in China in 2008 to mark the 30th anniversary of the beginning of the opening up policy and economic reform.
"People know very little about the way China has walked since 30 years ago. Even young Chinese do not know about it," the book's translator said.
Russian official Vladimir Zakharov praised Li for his role in enhancing cultural exchange between China and abroad.
"Li showed the European culture to Chinese people while he himself is the best representative of the Chinese culture," Zakharov said.
The annual Moscow International Book Fair is the largest book forum in Russia. Some 1,500 publishing houses from 56 countries participated in this year's event.
