New York Fashion Week kicked off a new week's show on Monday with collections featuring spring-inspired floral prints and bold colors.

Carolina Herrera's spring collection at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week featured garments with strong floral prints and silky layered dresses. Models graced the runway in large-brimmed hats and slick hair pulled back and held in place by handfuls of barrettes.

Like Carolina Herrera, feminine prints of butterflies were also seen at the Carlos Miele runway show. Its spring collection highlighted bold colors and bright whites, including mostly form-fitting dresses of varying lengths with curved lines of yellow, red, and orange.

Flowers also bloomed at Donna Karan in muted neutrals, and they peeked through the runways of Tracy Reese and Jenny Packham.

The Tracy Reese collection featured vibrant hues of blue and coral in designs that were clean and classic, but had a special summer flair to them.

New York Fashion Week has brought its cutting-edge style to New York City since last Thursday, opening its spring collection previews in a new location on the campus of Lincoln Center.

An estimated 100,000 buyers, editors, stylists and celebrities will visit the new home of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.
