The film tells a story about the outbreak of a deadly virus in the Harbor city of Hong Kong, which reflects the 2003 SARS epidemic. Josie Ho stars as the sister of "Patient Zero," who is the first to be affected by the disease.

Soderbergh gathered a stellar cast to portray the international doctor team dispatched to Hong Kong to help control the spread of the disease. The main actors include Kate Winslet, Matt Damon, Jude Law and Gwyneth Paltrow.

Aside from being a talented singer and actress, Josie Ho is most famous for being the daughter of Macao casino magnate Stanley Ho.
