Chinese people who were born during the 1980s must be very familiar with the names Li Lei and Han Meimei, because they are the characters from their middle school English textbooks.
From November 3 to 14, a stage play named "Li Lei and Han Meimei" will run at the Chaoyang Nine Theater in Beijing.
The drama centers on people who are entering their 30s, looking back on their happy childhoods and talking about their current lives.
Lead actress Jiang Xiaohan plays Han Meimei, "Everyone has ambitions and dreams when they are young. But life isn't always what they had imagined. When we realize that, some of us become numb, and some choose to draw back. This show helps us seek the initial courage and ambitions we had, and forge a bridge between reality and fairytales. I believe this is the core idea of the show."
