U.S. renowned television host, Oprah Winfrey is spending her second day in Australia at Uluru, Northern Territory on Thursday.

The talk show host was originally going to spend Thursday on Hamilton Island of Queensland.

"The reason I wanted to go to Uluru is that (singer) Paul Simon called me and said you must, it's not to be missed," Winfrey told Channel Ten on Thursday.

The billionaire television star is expected to spend the day traveling around the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park and will meet with the local traditional owners, the Anangu.

Winfrey will then fly to Melbourne, Victoria on Friday where she will make her only public appearance at Federation Square.

Winfrey arrived in Queensland on Wednesday, marking the start of her Ultimate Australian Adventure.

She spent the night on Hamilton Island, and has met up with 300 studio audience members she has brought to Australia. She also got to hold a koala for the first time.

"While she was doing it, a couple of other koalas wandered on to the branch in front of her eyes and decided to have a romantic moment together," Queensland Premier Anna Bligh told Australia Associated Press. "So not many people ever get to see that and Oprah thought it was absolutely hilarious, so I think we'll see all of that on U.S. television as well."

Two episodes of the Oprah show will be filmed at the Sydney Opera House next week, with about 12,000 Australians expected to watch the filming live.

A third episode will feature her guests' travel experiences as they head to every state and territory in Australia.
