The first Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Youth Film Festival is to be staged in the three places to enhance exchange and collaboration among the younger generation of film directors and producers, according to the Hong Kong government website on Jan. 14.
The film festival, also aims to promote Chinese films in general, features a series of promotional activities, including the screening of 10 selected films in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, business matching events and film forums.
Young audience are invited to vote for their favorite films from among those released in Hong Kong and Guangdong in 2010. Awards will be presented at a ceremony to be held in Guangzhou on Feb. 25.
The festival is co-organized by Create Hong Kong and authorities and industry bodies in Guangdong and Macao.
Create Hong Kong is responsible for the activities to be held in Hong Kong, with the Hong Kong Motion Picture Industry Association providing support in co-ordination.
