Ceremony for Golden Globe awards kicks off

The ceremony for Golden Globe awards kicked off in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles on Sunday night, with Katey Sagal winning an early trophy in a TV drama "Sons of Anarchy."

Christian Bale, who played a boxer struggling with drug addiction in film drama "The Fighter," was also among the early winners. He won the award for best supporting actor.

The Golden Globe for best television drama has gone to HBO's "Boardwalk Empire."

Joining the early winners was "Toy Story 3," which won the Golden Globe for best animated feature film.

Annette Bening has won the Golden Globe for best actress in a motion picture comedy or musical for "The Kids Are All Right."

The top award of the Golden Globe is the best film drama which will be announced later in the evening.

Favorites for the award are "The King's Speech" and "The Social Network." The former, which tells of British King George VI's stammering problem, has also been nominated for six other awards. The latter, the Facebook film that has swept many early honors in Hollywood's awards season, has come into the Golden Globes with a total six nominations.
