"The Social Network" won the best editing award handed out by the American Cinema Editors (ACE) at an event held in Los Angeles Saturday.
The drama, which deals with the founding of the popular social network "Facebook" and ensuing lawsuits, garnered the best edited feature film award for Angus Wall, ACE. and Kirk Baxter.
"Alice in Wonderland," a Johnny Depp vehicle released by Walt Disney Pictures, won the best edited feature film (comedy or musical) for Chris Lebenzon, ACE.
"Toy Story 3," a 3-D CGI comedy-adventure film released by Disney-Pixar, was recognized for best edited animated feature film for Ken Schretzmann and Lee Unkrich, ACE.
Christopher Nolan, who directed sci-fi thriller "Inception," received the ACE Golden Eddie Filmmaker of the Year Award at the 61st annual award ceremony.
Veteran film editors Michael Brown, and Michael Kahn, both from ACE,received Career Achievement honors from director Joe Sargent and Steven Spielberg respectively.
The honor, known as Eddie Awards, has been recognized as an important precursor to the Oscars. All films that have won the Best Picture at the Oscars have received at least one Eddie Awards nomination since 1981.
