Indonesia resumed the conduction of film festival for children (KidFfest), and 14 films themed friendship among children and adventure would be screened in several cinemas here, the organizer said Monday.
"We want to provide opportunities for children to enjoy and appreciate world-class movies, inspire discussions on the variety of cultures in the world," said Nia Dinata, official at Kalyana Shira, the festival's organizer.
She said that the movies scheduled for screening are from Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Denmark, Poland, Sweden, India, Japan and the host country Indonesia.
The third KidFfest event that would last through May 1 was dedicated for children at ages of 6 to 15 years old, Nia said, adding that Japanese movie "Kung Fu Kid" was scheduled to open the festival and Polish movie "The Magic Tree" would close the festival.
Nia also said that the organizer would appoint children as juries who will select movies considered the best ones that would be announced at the end of the festival. Besides that, the festival would also screen short amateur movies produced by children.
