Yang Yuanyuan, aviator and translator of the acclaimed memoir "Highest Duty: My Search for What Really Matters" by American pilot Captain Chesley B. "Sulley" Sullenberger, shared his career experiences and aviation stories with reporters on Tuesday. Huang Youyi, vice president of China International Publishing Group (CIPG), who edited and proofread the Chinese version, joined Yang in sharing his experiences working with the book.
"Highest Duty", originally published in the U.S. by William Morrow, was released in China by the Volumes Publishing Company. The book discusses lessons Sullenberger learned from his childhood and spans his 11-year service with the U.S. air force and 30 years as a US Airways commercial pilot.
"The book is not just about the emergency landing of the plane on the Hudson River in that shocking 3 minutes and 31 seconds," Yang said at the conference. "One should be whole-heartedly devoted to his duty everyday. This should be the goal of everyone's career and life."
