"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2" was named as the favorite movie during the People's Choice Awards ceremony held Wednesday night at the Nokia Theatre in downtown Los Angeles, California.
The eighth and final instalment in the long-running Harry Potter film franchise, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallow: Part 2," which hit the screen in July 2011, nabbed a total of four honors including the favorite movie, favorite action movie, favorite ensemble movie cast, and favorite book adaptation.
Katy Perry, the singer who led the nomination with seven nods, was the night's biggest winner who took five statues including favorite female artist, favorite song of the year, favorite music video, favorite TV guest star on "How I Met Your Mother" and favorite tour headliner. She canceled the planned appearance at the event.
"I want to thank you all for voting for me, fingers crossed!" She wrote in her twitter account.
The pop superstar, who has now in the midst of a divorce from husband Russell Brand, was also nominated for favorite pop artist and for her voice work as Smurfette in the animated film "The Smurfs."
