It seems that Chinese actress Yang Mi, who gained huge popularity for her role in the 2011 time-traveling television series "Palace" (Gong), never fails to catch the attention of filmmakers, media and film fans alike.
In 2011, a small-budget horror film "Mysterious Island", which was also Yang Mi's silver screen debut, raked in more than 70 million yuan at the box office. It was obvious to all who viewed the movie that Yang had remarkable box office appeal.
Yang Mi, who is currently promoting four different films at the Hong Kong International Film Festival (HKIFF), each of which is of a different genre, will have to balance her time wisely in order to meet her demanding schedule. Of course, that's easier said than done, as seen by her absence from a news conference for her upcoming film "Ghost Bullets". However, her excuse was a good one; as she was promoting another of her upcoming films, Painted Skin 2, at the HKIFF.
Over the past few months, Yang has been able to hone her acting skills alongside numerous megastars on the film sets of four distinctly different movies, including fantasy film "Painted Skin 2," comedy romance "Love in the Buff," action movie "Wu Dang" and suspense flick "Ghost Bullets." What a busy girl!
