Hollywood box-office smash "The Hunger Games" is set to be released here in China.

Lionsgate has announced the film will open in early June in both dubbed and subtitled versions.

The Hunger Games has proven to be a worldwide hit following its March premiere.

To date it has grossed nearly 620-million-US-dollars worldwide, including more than 380-million in North America.

"The Hunger Games" is among the first Hollywood studio films to be released in China under the new revenue sharing agreement announced in February.

The new terms allow Western distributors to collect up to 25-percent of a film's receipts in China.

The movie tells the story of a teenage girl who fights to win a death-match reality show featuring children in a post-apocalyptic world.
