New Bollywood Muscial 'Taj Express' is making its way across the Chinese continent, and features both traditional and modern Indian dance and song.

The Embassy of India hosted a press conference for the Bollywood musical 'Taj Express' China Tour on Thursday, December 27, 2012.

The presser was jointly hosted by the Embassy of India, the producer of 'Taj Express' and UniArt Universal Culture & Media Co., Ltd.

The musical's story revolves around Vasu, a street-smart thief who falls in love with Meera, a well-to-do policeman's daughter. According to the film's website, "Meera doesn't know of his existence until destiny brings them together on the Taj Express. From Varanasi to Agra and Mumbai to Jaisalmer, the show takes the audience on a journey through India as the couple spew limericks at each other and dance to songs — many of which are predominantly folk tunes."

'Taj Express' is a Bollywood musical extravaganza, and will add traditional and folk dance as well as music from the north eastern Indian states in future shows. 'Taj Express' is directed and produced by Vaibhavi's sister Shruti Merchant, and was choreographed and co-produced by Vaibhavi.

The musical 'Taj Express' premiered at the India International Film Awards ceremony in Singapore in June 2012 earlier this year, and is touring China from December 19, 2012 until January 24, 2013, and will appear in cities including Beijing, Guangzhou, Xiamen, Wuhan, Shenzhen, Zhongshan, Haikou, Shanghai and Nanchang.

The group will also perform at the CCTV New Year Gala in Beijing on December 31, 2012 at the Olympic Park Bird's Nest Stadium.
