Actor/Director Kenneth Branagh has presented the Queen with her honorary award at Windsor Castle.

"We are therefore especially grateful for your hospitality tonight, and for this chance to express our humble and heartfelt gratitude for your enduring support of and commitment to our industry."

Comedian Billy Connolly is among those who were invited to last night's event.

"People don't realize the immense good that it does, you know, for everybody. It's a bit like football. When the top teams do great, even the wee boys playing football in the street do great."

"Homeland" actor Damian Lewis and "Star Wars" director George Lucas also took part in the event.
