Angelina Jolie made her first public appearance over the weekend since having a double mastectomy.

The actress joined her partner Brad Pitt at the "World War Z" preview screening in London.

Jolie thanked her fans for their support, saying that she was very happy and felt great.

The 37-year-old was glad that her experiences were bringing greater awareness of the issue.

Jolie opted for a pre-emptive double mastectomy earlier this year after tests revealed she carried the "faulty" BRCA1 gene and had an 87 percent chance of contracting breast cancer.
