Sun Lijun, vice president of the Beijing Film Academy and director of 3D Animated Film "Fantastic Adventure", has stated that Xie Na was the prototype of Su Da, the main character of the film.
In an interview with Karen Jin, co-host of "Reel China", a program released by crienglish.com every Wednesday, Sun said that to some extent, the main characters of the film were based on the dubbing actors. He explained, 'since art comes from life, we should find prototypes from life'.
Su Da has the character of one not bound by rule, who dares to love and hate, and is adventurous. He added that when Xie Na did the dubbing work, she got into the state of work very quickly.
Asked if whether having famous actors doing the voice work would help box office earnings, Sun replied that having celebrities on board was a plus in general, but in terms of the extent to which it would influence the box office, he holds a conservative view. The box office, in his opinion, relies on comprehensive factors including promotion, publishing, its release time, its target audience etc.
The film tells the story of a youngster living in a city on the search for truth, inner peace and the perfect love story, following a near life-threatening challenge. It will hit screens across China on July 20.
