Hollywood blockbuster "Transformers: Age of Extinction" will feature several heroic scenes shot in Wulong, a mysterious and beautiful landscape in Chongqing, China, director Michael Bay said Wednesday.

Michael Bay, who just finished shooting in Hong Kong for the movie, flew to Wulong Karst National Geology Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, to continue his filming in China.

"A year and half ago, when we were creating the script, we had the basic idea that we would be arriving at a mysterious hill in China," Bay said, "The scene we shoot here is a very heroic scene with autobot leader Optimus Prime, it's a very exciting and big scene."

Bay also revealed Chinese actress Li Bingbing will have 30 minutes in "Transformers 4;" actor Han Gen will participate in the filming only for one day in Chicago due to his busy schedule.

"Transformers 4" producers added that the primary factor for them to come shoot the film in China is not because they consider the China's increasing box office performance and potential, but because it was part of Bay’s original concept. But they surely paid attention to Chinese market and believed worldwide box office results for the fourth installment of the franchise will be as high as US$1 billion.

The shooting, with help of M1905.com and the local Wulong government, will mainly take place at the Three Natural Bridges scenery of Fairy Maiden Town, Wulong County. The same place once hosted the shoot of Chinese blockbuster "Curse of the Golden Flower" by Zhang Yimou. Other sites in Wulong, which may be included in the film, have not yet been disclosed. Michael Bay and his staff will fly to Beijing several days after the Wulong shoot wraps up to continue "Transformers 4" China journey.

The film is set for release on June 27, 2014.
