Chinese actor Guo Tao, model Zhang Liang and his son Tian Tian promoted their upcoming film "Where Are We Going, Dad" in Beijing on Tuesday.

The film is an extension of the TV show of the same name which is produced by Hunan Satellite TV.

Released in October, the series is reported to draw in 70 million viewers per episode. The film forms the final episode of the TV show for this season.

The film was shot in a wild animal park in Guangzhou. In the film, five fathers and their children accept their "final mission" which takes place in a jungle with wild animals. The production crew is said to be made up by 500 people with scenes to be selected from 1000 hours of raw footage.

However, several have raised their doubts about the motivations behind the production of the film. Responding to comments about the film's short production time of just a few months, Guo, famous for his performance in the Chinese film "Crazy Stone," explained, "This film is essentially a reality show. Its production process is unique. I'm not worried about the techniques. According to my experience, I believe this film will open up a new area for Chinese film in certain aspects. I believe that the five fathers' acting skills and the contributions of the five children contribution will impress the audiences in a fresh way. "

The film is to hit Chinese screens on January 31st, 2014.
