Liao has returned to Beijing and attended a press conference on his Silver Bear. The forty-year-old actor received the award for his performance in the film 'Black Coal, Thin Ice,' which also won the Golden Bear for Best Film at the festival.

Liao has appeared in 16 films and played 50 different roles. He is very selective about what films he chooses to work on and is always looking to cooperate with people who are truly passionate about filmmaking. He said, "I like cooperate with people who love this profession because it makes me happy. When choosing which films I would act in, I take into considerations elements such as script content, my role and what the entire team is like. The most important factor is whether or not they really love filmmaking."

The film 'Black Coal, Thin Ice' will reportedly hit Chinese screens soon but the exact date has not yet been decided.
