Lineup of 67th Cannes Film Festival in competition

The 67th Festival de Cannes, or the Cannes Film Festival, opened Wednesday evening in the southern French sea resort of Cannes and will last till May 25.

A total of 18 films have been selected to compete for the Palme d'Or (Golden Palm), the top prize of the annual international film festival, as well as other prizes. The winners will be announced at an awarding ceremony on May 24.

The following is the lineup of the Official Selection 2014 In Competition:

Adieu au Langage (Goodbye to Language) directed by Jean-Luc Godard (Switzerland);

Captives (The Captive) directed by Atom Egoyan (Canada);

Deux Jours, Une Nuit (Two Days, One Night) directed by Jean-Pierre Dardenne, Luc Dardenne (Belgium);

Foxcatcher directed by Bennett Miller (the United States);

Futatsume No Mado (Still The Water) directed by Naomi Kawase (Japan);

Jimmy's Hall directed by Ken Loach (Britain);

Le Meraviglie (The Wonders) directed by Alice Rohrwacher (Italy);

Leviathan directed by Andrey Zvyagintsev (Russia);

Maps To The Stars directed by David Cronenberg (Canada);

Mommy directed by Xavier Dolan (Canada);

Mr. Turner directed by Mike Leigh (Britain);

Relatos Salvajes (Wild Tales) directed by Damian Szifron (Argentina);

Saint Laurent directed by Bertrand Bonello (France);

Sils Maria (Clouds Of Sils Maria) directed by Olivier Assayas (France);

The Homesman directed by Tommy Lee Jones (the United States);

The Search directed by Michel Hazanavicius (France);

Timbuktu directed by Abderrahmane Sissako (Mauritania);

Winter Sleep directed by Nuri Bilge Ceylan (Turkey).
