About the animation:

"Calabash Brothers" is a paper-cut animated TV series produced by Shanghai Animation Film Studio. It revolves around seven boys who are born out of calabash and fight against a scorpion spirit and a snake spirit. The 13-episode-long drama has gained immense popularity after its 1986 debut.
