'X-Men' rules China's box office

Mutant superhero movie "X-Men: Days of Future Past" stayed atop China's box office charts by taking in 276 million yuan (about 44.1 million U.S. dollars) in the week ending June 1.

The second spot went to action-thriller "Overheard 3," which raked in 156 million yuan during the week, according to a China Film News report on Wednesday.

Zhang Yimou's "Coming Home" came in third with 50.2 million yuan during the week.

The fourth and fifth spots were taken by two animated features, "Happy Little Submarines 4: Adventure of Octopus," and "Zhu Zhu Xia Zhi Yong Chuang Ju Ren Dao," the latest in the "GG Bond" series, with 31.6 million yuan and 24.3 million yuan, respectively.
