Actor plans 'Journey to the West' movie

Liu Xiao Ling Tong, who plays the Monkey King in the classic 1986 TV adaption of "Journey to the West" says he plans to shoot a movie version of the famous Chinese novel.

The 56-year-old Monkey King actor says he has been mulling the idea of making a movie series of "Journey to the West" for a long time.
He says he plans to invite the original cast of the 1986 TV series to join in the films.
Ma Dehua, who plays the 'Monk Pig' in the original TV series, has already agreed to take part in the films.
A film version of the famous Chinese novel is already due to hit theatres next year.
