New 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' trailer unveiled

Director J.J. Abrams and number of Star Wars cast and crew have turned out to help unveil the latest trailer for the new Star Wars film.

The trailer is said to offer a mix of new and old for fans of the Star Wars franchise.

Over a monologue from Luke Skywalker talking about the strength of the Force in his family, a number of visual references to earlier movies in the series are shown, including a downed Star Destroyer, different Storm Troopers and a fight between a Tie Fighter and the Millennium Falcon.

The final shot in the trailer shows Han Solo onscreen telling Chewbacca, "Chewie, we're home."

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" is set for a global release on December 18th.
