Top Asian filmmaker Peter Chan Ho-sun is to direct and produce a biopic on tennis star Li Na.

The film titled Li Na: My Life will focus on the career of the tennis player who is the only Chinese to have ever won a grand slam.

The producer is auditioning both actresses and sportswomen for the role and he hopes to make a decision in the next couple of months in order to begin shooting by the end of the year. The film will be shot in English and Chinese.

Li Na retired at the end of last year after winning the 2011 French Open and 2014 Australian Open. She later released an autobiography from which the screenplay was adapted.
