Hundreds of rare and original collectibles associated with "Star Wars" are headed to auction.

"It's just an amazing assortment of stuff. I mean, it basically carries everything from 1977 through 1985 which is the original stuff. There is over 400 carded action figures from that time frame which is both a great assortment of stuff, and a very high number of figures."

Sotheby's is holding the online auction for items associated with the franchise. Estimates run from $100 to $35,000.

A Luke Skywalker figurine with double telescoping lightsaber has a pre-sale estimate of $12,000 to $18,000.

Highlights will be on view Dec. 4 to 11 at The Conde Nast Gallery at One World Trade Center.

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" is being released on December 18th in North America and many other markets. It will be released in early January here in China.
