Initiated by China Pictorial Publications, the China-India Dialogue is a multimedia international communication project, consisting of a printed magazine, a website, as well as social media accounts and mobile apps.
The Chinese Ambassador to India, Le Yucheng, and the Indian Ambassador to China, Ashok K. Kantha, both congratulated the birth of the magazine and contributed essays to its inaugural issue.
Le said, "With trust between China and India strengthening so much in recent years, China-India Dialogues has come at just the right time. We hope the magazine will serve as a bridge to deepen mutual understanding and strengthen communication as well as create a 'new normal' relationship featuring regular bilateral visits, mutual communication and exchange between the two countries."
Ambassador Ashok K. Kantha said that the theme of the inaugural issue of China-India Dialogue, namely, "Internet Plus Enterprises", is a topic worthy of discussion since the development of digital technology and enterprise culture will generate plentiful opportunities for bilateral cooperation. "As the world's fastest growing economies, China and India will both benefit from the trend," he added.
China-India Dialogue targets readers from political, business and academic circles and think tanks in both China and India. It will focus on various topics such as the "Asian community of shared future", "major developing countries and the new international order", and "achievements and difficulties accompanying the modernization of ancient Eastern civilizations".
With separate sections including strategy, dialogue, debate, data and trends, each part of the magazine features distinctive perspectives, presenting the views and voices of Chinese and Indian scholars and experts in the fields of politics, economics and social development.
Lu Cairong, vice president of the China International Publishing Group (CIPG), T.C.A. Rangachari, a renowned Indian diplomat, Tarun Vijay, a member of the Indian Parliament and president of the Parliamentary Group on India-China Friendship, and Ashok Butani, an Indian publisher, attended the magazine's launch ceremony.
