National Library of China outlines New Year plans

The National Library of China has announced its list of events for the upcoming Spring Festival.
A New Year couplet contest will be one the interactive games processed via its website.
A New Year couplet exhibition will be run from Jan 26 to give an introduction of the Chinese couplet culture.
The library will also open its database, including digital textbooks, online lectures and other audio files for the Spring Festival. It will also provide a digital version of the exhibition board.
The library is to also hold a New Year gala at its art center on Feb 4. The event is free but ticket applications with ID cards are needed in advance.
Han Yongjin, director of the library, will offer New Year greetings and souvenirs to the first readers of the Year of the Monkey on Feb 8.
