Addressing the media, Wang Baoqiang says his time behind a camera will be a dream come true.

"After staring in the big box office hit "Lost in Thailand three years ago, I had been asked to direct my own film. I was not ready at that time. But now, I think I should give it a shot after all those years' studying and gathering of experience."

Chinese directors including Feng Xiaogang, Chen Kaige and Xu Zheng were there for Wang Baoqiang's announcement.

Wang Baoqiang, dubbed by many as "a grassroots star," rose to fame after staring in director Feng Xiaogang's "A World Without Thieves" in 2004.

His directorial debut, "Buddies in India," is an action-comedy.

Wang Baoqiang will also play the leading role.

"Buddies in India" is scheduled to open in Chinese cinemas on December 24th.
