The 43-year-old actress focuses on aging in her latest book. She says she has never lied about her age amid the pressures from Hollywood and society as a whole.
"I've aged for the last 22 years in Hollywood and people have seen me go from a 21-year-old girl to a 43-year-old woman and that change has been, you know, it's happened. It's been - you know, what's the word I'm looking for - documented on film and so there's nothing that I can really do about that and of course I'm not trying to be 25 any longer. I'm proudly owning where I'm at and so I'm not going to be looking for the parts that I would be getting as a 25-year-old."
Diaz has been acclaimed as the darling of the big screen since the 1997 classic 'My Best Friend's Wedding', and 1998's hit 'There's Something About Mary'.
She says she hopes to highlight the privilege of aging to women in this new book.
The actress also admits, she wouldn't rewind the clock even if she could.
"When I was 25 I couldn't wait to be 30 and when I was 35 I couldn't wait to be 40. You know I've always looked forward to it. If you paid me to go back to being 25, you couldn't pay me. There's nothing that would make me want to be 25 again."
"The Longevity Book" is a follow-up to the actress' New York Times Best-Seller, "The Body Book."
