Hu Ge, Sun Li win big at Shanghai TV Festival

Actress Sun Li and actor Hu Ge took home the coveted Magnolia Awards at Shanghai Television Festival last night.

Sun won Best Actress for her role in Legend of Miyue. Miyue also took home the award for Best TV Series.

It was the second time Sun has won the award for Best Actress.

Hu was awarded for his performance in Nirvana in Fire.

Other domestic productions, including Tiger Mom,The Journey of Flower, as well as the highly reputed Nirvana in Fire, The Disguiser, and Once Upon a Time in Tsingtao all took home reputed awards.

Renowned actor Zhang Guoli, who headed the jury this year, said the results were produced based on merit.

"We didn't relax or tighten the rules this year. We played according to the book," said Zhang.
