According to Yin Xiaodong, head of the China National Theatre for Children, what made this year's festival distinct from previous ones is a special arrangement that enhances audience interaction.
"Audience members are invited to vote online for their favorite programs. If our theatre's shows are highly favored, we would consider giving more of these shows later in the theatre."
The China Children's Theatre Festival has successfully held five sessions since 2011.
Gathering some 46 excellent drama works from eight countries and regions into Chinese cities, including Beijing, Jinan, Chengdu and Ningbo, this year's festival will kick off on July 8th and close on August 25th, lasting one and a half months.
