Wang Tao's clarinet album contains fourteen tracks, with the clarinet playing a central role in the recording. The album also includes music from the famous pianist Michel Kiener. Speaking in Beijing, Wang Tao commends his record company, Universal Music, for helping out with the design of the record.

"I am a homegrown Chinese musician. Among many other musicians, we want to boost Chinese music on the wider international stage. I'm thankful for the Universal Music that paves the way for us, particularly for clarinet artists."

Wang Tao's album "Schubert" was first made available in digital stores in December 2016. Since its release, it has rapidly gained a following online.

Wang Tao has also announced that he will tour a live show around China. The tour will visit more than 20 cities around the country; including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chongqing and Wuhan.
