Chosen as the Best Feature Film and directed by George Barabadze, it depicts how Luka's mother and grandmother searched for his body after he was killed on the battlefield. The film reflects on how war damages people's lives. "Luka" also won the Best Supporting Actress award for Lia Kapanadze, who plays Nina, the grandmother.

Another Georgian war film, "House of Others," won Best Director award for Russudan Glurjidze, as well as the Best Cinematography award.

"The film was made to tell the world how Georgian people suffered from war and their courage in rebuilding the nation after the war," Glurjidze said, "I felt it was my obligation to do the film."

The Chinese film "Mr. No Problem," an adaptation based on a 1943 novel by Lao She, won the Best Screen Play and the Best Actor award for Fan Wei.

It represented the maiden work of director Mei Feng, who also served as the playwright. Mei said he learned a lot when creating the script.

"In modern history, Mr. Lao She was a master of Chinese literature. I was under pressure to adapt the work of such a master: How to be loyal to the original story while being creative. Lao She’s work has very unique angles and provides insightful opinions in literature writing about society and human nature. We had a lot to absorb."

The Best Actress award went to Iranian performer Golab Adineh, who starred in the film "The Sis."

The festival received 424 entries from 59 countries and regions on six continents, including 274 international films and 150 domestic works. After five rounds of selection, 15 films produced by a total of 19 countries were nominated for the Tiantan Awards.

Apart from director Bille August, the jury included Hong Kong director Mabel Cheung, Italian producer Paolo Del Brocco, Chinese actress Jiang Wenli, Romanian film director Radu Jude, American director Rob Minkoff, and French actor Jean Reno.
