The event was jointly sponsored by the Media Center of the China National Textile and Apparel Council, the China Textile and Apparel Education Society, the Beijing Internet Association, and a Beijing-based cultural development company named Wings of Dreams.
The competition sought originality and conformed to the current national spirit of "Mass Entrepreneurship," being committed to encouraging young Chinese fashion designers to build their own brands and enterprises, and at the same time, actively integrate with internet technologies to provide new ideas and models for the development of traditional industries.
Hence, "Young Designers' Entrepreneurship" and "Chinese Originality" were the buzz words during the event.
The competition extended over nine months, attracting more than 2,000 art works from over 1,000 applicants, of which 86 entered the final stage. A series of awards were on offer, including "Top 100 Excellent Designers," "Best Entrepreneur Mentors," "Excellent Mentors," "Excellent Organizers" and a "Special Prize."
The awards ceremony also attracted leading industry personalities, including Ni Yangsheng, president of the China Textile and Apparel Education Society, Wei Lin, vice president of the China National Textile and Apparel Council, Ji Xiaofeng, secretary general of the China Textile and Apparel Education Society, and Liu Jiaqiang, vice president of the China Wool Textile Association.
