This book consists of stories of 18 youths growing up since China’s reform and open up. They witnessed the wonder of the fast growth of Chinese economy, they were brought up in the collision between material and cultures, and they are living in a more affluent world than their forefathers. Besides, they are known by many as dreamless and called the lost generation. The 18 youths, from different places and with different backgrounds, are not lost in materialism or consumerism, however. Their lives are resolute and glittering with dream. They are confident that their individual effort would bring better life to people around them because, as is believe by them, “the world changes not because few people do much but because each does a little.”

The author, Gong Han, is a journalist of China Today, Master Degree of Communication.
