China’s cadre system covers various related sub-systems, such as the systems of retirement, selection and appointment, management, appraisal, education and training, and supervision. This book, deals mainly with the systems of Chinese cadre selection, appointment and supervision, namely, how to select and manage officials. There is also a brief introduction to the history and objectives of the construction of the Party’s cadre system.
