Lu Min (鲁敏) was born in the 1970’s to a teacher mother and an engineer father. Growing up in the countryside, she started working at 18 and has since served as a post office clerk, a secretary, a company planner, a reporter and a civil servant.

Since picking up the pen in 1999, Lu has published the short story compilations "Nine kinds of sorrows," "Abyss in reflection," "Father on the wall," "Viewfinder" and "Feast."

She also wrote the novel "Dinner for six" and "Un-postable love."

Her works have won awards that include the Lu Xun Literature Prize, Zhuang Zhongwen Literature Prize, People’s Literature Prize, Chinese Writers Prize, Chinese Novels Biennial Prize and Most Popular Novel by Selected Stories.

Several of her novels have been listed in the Chinese Fiction Society’s annual rankings and annually selected excellent works.

Her work has been translated into German, French, Japanese, Russian and English.
