An Airbus A380 plane on Wednesday arrived in Guangzhou, capital
of south China's Guangdong Province, on the second leg of its
seven-day trial flight in China after Hong Kong last Saturday.
The plane, which seats 555, landed at Baiyun Airport of
Guangzhou at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday and will fly to Beijing
and Shanghai as part of the trials, according to sources with
Airbus China Ltd.
Airbus A380 started flight trials on November 13 and arrived in
Singapore and Seoul over the following two days. The flights are
aimed at testing its function and reliability in major world
airports.
The final tests are expected to be completed in mid-December
after the aircraft's last trial flights in South Africa, Canada,
Australia and the South and North Poles.
So far five Airbus A380 planes have successfully completed their
trial flights and Airbus has received orders for 166 of them from
15 customers, including an order for five from China Southern
Airlines.
