A Chinese trade exhibition will be staged in Dakar from Nov. 30
to Dec. 9, organizers announced at a press conference on
Monday.
The exhibition is being organized by the China Council for the
Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and will take place along
with the 17th Dakar International Trade Expo, said Wang Hede, head
of the Chinese delegation from CCPIT.
According to Wang, exhibits are set to feature agricultural
machinery, motorcycles, automobiles, household appliances,
medicine, textiles, hardware and other products from China.
Exhibitors from 11 Chinese provinces and cities would introduce
China's economic achievements and the life of the Chinese people
with pictures, brochures, and products, said Wang.
Mamadou Seck, counselor of Senegal Chamber of Commerce for
agriculture and industry, told Xinhua that Senegal-China business
relations were part of South-South cooperation and the upcoming
Chinese trade fair incarnated the two countries' strategic
partnership.
He added that Senegal-China relations had stepped into a stage
of achieving mutual benefits, as well as win-win and common
development.
Commercial Counselor of the Chinese Embassy Zhou Zhaoming said
the Chinese and Senegalese economies were complementary to each
other and had great potential for cooperation.
China-Senegal bilateral trade volume amounted to US$141 million
in 2005. Chinese entrepreneurs were confident of cooperating with
Senegalese counterparts in trade and investment, and the Chinese
market was also open to them, said Zhou.
